So....New ideas for the garden....

Last year we put in the pond, the rock garden, the archway and cobble stone path, the rectangle garden, and whipped the triangle garden into something nice to look at.

I swore no new projects this year.

Ha!!

I have so many ideas....

Idea 1....meditation garden

Passed the archway is a secondary clearing in our woods. Its nice and secluded and shady...

Tanya and I want to do something simple with the area....the idea is to plant shade loving, low maintenance stuff that like to spread on its own...Creeping Flox, Lily of the Valley, probably some hosta....and just kinda let it go around the edges of the clearing....if it gets too out of hand...welll...less to mow...lol

And then...in among the flowers and plants....statues and representations of deities from various pantheons....A falcon to represent Freya from the Norse, a Budda, an elephant to represent Hinda....a goddess figure os some sort, probably another green man, a St Francis statue....probably a cross....and whatever else we find. Add a couple benches for sitting, and possible another right under the tree at the back of clearing for an alter of sorts...

This will of course be a work in process...especially collecting the artwork...but even empty, its a great place to meditate.

Idea Two...Fire ring

The fire ring that we currently have is just a big, rusty, metal ring. Its an eyesore after all the other work we have done with the area. It must go.

So...Round hole 4' diameter....1.5' to 2' deep at center...lined with brick for easy cleanout.
Around the hole, ring of 8"-12" rocks

12-18 inches out from that a second ring of 4"-8" rock, which is what we have around the gardens.

between the rings a flat surface of some sort...again for easy cleaning.

Pc wants to do cobblestone...which would look really nice, but is very labor intensive and the rock is a little harder to get.

I am thinking maybe brick...at least for now....I would really to get this done.

Idea Three...another garden...maybe herbs....

So while discussing the fire ring...PC thought maybe we should move it more to the center of the park (for those who know...think the middle between the gardens there now and where the fire ring is currently.).
Seems like a great idea...no more killing the that hangs over the current location.

So...what to do with where it is now...couple till it up and seed it with grass....or Make another garden. Where it sits gets pretty good sun...might be a place the do herbs...or just more flowers...or both. (picturing an herb garden divided by rows of flowers)

So yeah...just a few ideas.

(yes, I know I need to learn to cut...I plan to call Tanya about that tonight...and maybe I'll add a few pics to this as well)
